Religious Trauma and Purity Culture with Audrey Omenson

Audrey Omenson is a licensed counselor based in Houston, TX. She has been working in the mental health field since 2009 and is passionate about using Somatic Experiencing and other tools to support clients in reclaiming their body, identity and agency post-trauma, focusing particularly in the areas of religious trauma and purity culture.

In addition to this being a professional specialty of hers, it is deeply related to her personal experience and healing journey. After leaving the conservative religious spaces of her early life, she has found somatic experiencing and other healing supports to be crucial in the reclamation of her own body, agency, sexuality and queerness
